Carolyn Collins, popular KSEE 24 morning anchor with nearly 1.5 million social media followers, is leaving Fresno.

Known for her fun on-air personality and charismatic presence on social media, Collins takes an entertaining turn—yet also an unconventional approach—to share what her life as a TV anchor has been like in and out of the studio.

Among her videos, she’s been doing wacky dances on TikTok, providing behind-the-scenes footage in the studio when TV cameras are no longer rolling and what it’s like to get ready for the morning news starting at 5 a.m.

Collins announced her impending departure Monday night and said her last day on the air will be November 30.

“I cannot thank Central Valley enough for welcoming me into the community with open arms and into your homes every morning,” Collins wrote on social media. “It is an honor and privilege to serve as the KSEE 24 Sunrise and Midday Anchor!

“The people I met, the stories I told, and the exciting live shots I did made this an amazing experience!”

While it’s unclear how many followers Collins gained during her nearly three-year stint in Fresno, she undoubtedly had the strongest social media following among on-air Fresno personalities. Collins has 1.1 million followers and She generated 25.8 million likes on her TikTok page alone.

With all the attention, however, has come criticism of whether Collins is making the news too much about herself and not enough about the stories actually being told as has been the traditional approach.

But in the case of today’s journalism analyzing online page views, TV viewership and following increases on several social media platforms, Collins’ approach to news can also be seen as a major media bonanza.

“In this fast-paced world of digital and broadcast platforms, Caroline’s strong journalistic skills and ability to reach and serve our viewers on whatever platforms they consume news and information will be an asset to our audience,” Susan Schiller of Houston Fox 26 station vice president and news director, said. he told TVNewsCheck.com.

However, Collins seemed to make a lasting impression during her time in Fresno, which began in December 2020.

Her candid insights into what life is like as a TV anchor has often generated thousands, if not millions, of views on social media, including her popular morning make-up transformations and what happens between commercial breaks.

Collins even shared the time she contracted COVID-19 For the second time in her life and loss of time on the air.

Collins was also a popular presence on the local golf scene and became friends with local professional golf star Bryson DeChambeau and his family.

Collins, who is from western Pennsylvania, went to college on a full athletic scholarship and played golf at Point Park University.

She co-hosted a nationally televised instructional golf series, The Swing Clinic, which aired on Fox Sports.

In addition, Collins has been the face of national golf companies Golf Galaxy and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Collins said she was heading to Houston to work as a weekday evening anchor at the New York Times FOX station 26 (KRIV).

“I’ll be in Fresno and on the air for another week!” Collins said. “Please say hello if you see me and know that I care deeply about Central Valley!”
